JAMMU, July 25: Vigilance Organization booked a Forest Guard for accumulating huge property disproportionate to his known source of income and also raided his house his house in Jammu
After registration of case FIR number 23/2018 U/S 5 (1) (e) read with section 5 (2) Prevention of Corruption Act, against Rakesh Sabharwal alias Bittu Guard, son of Sat Pal of Chainpur Kalakote, Vigilance conducted a raid with the help of local police /magistrates at the residence of accused person in Jammu in presence of independent witnesses.
Documents pertaining to various immovable properties, acquired by accused public servant, were recovered and seized. Further details of moveable property have been obtained. Detailed and in-depth scrutiny of the seized record will be carried out during further course of investigation by the vigilance organization.
The instant case was registered on the basis of verification conducted into the allegations that Rakesh Sabharwal has acquired huge moveable and immovable property disproportionate to his known sources of income. During verification, it surfaced that suspect has accumulated various immovable as well as movable assets in the form of land at Kalakote, land/house at Jammu, large number of vehicles involving huge expenditure. Further, accused has made huge investments in LIC of India in the name of his family members etc.
On the prima-facie establishment of allegations, Vigilance Organization registered a formal case under relevant section of law and conducted a raid.
