JAMMU, July 25: Bus Stand police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drug peddler and recovered 8 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession.
As per police sources, during patrolling, a team from Bus Stand Police Station intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 8 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Iqbal Mohammad, a resident of Duraha, Ludhiana, Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 43/18 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bus Stand and further investigation of the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Bus Stand Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial, SP City Dr Vinod Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
