SRINAGAR, July 26: Continuing its drive against drug menace, police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 30 grams of brown sugar from their possession in Kulgam district today.
A Police spokesman said that after acting on specific information, Kulgam police laid a naka in their jurisdiction which was headed by SHO Qazigund and during naka checking, a car bearing registration number JK03B -2984 was intercepted with 30 grams of brown sugar.
He identified the accused as Javid Ahmad Sofi, a resident of Hazratbal Anantnag, Fida Husain, a resident of Churat and Shabir Ahmad Mir, a resident of Banihal.
“All the three drug peddlers were arrested and the car has been seized. A case FIR number 171/2018 under Section 8/20 NDPS was registered and investigation has been taken up,” he said.
