SRINAGAR: Three people, including two security guards and a civilian, were injured even as a bank robbery by unidentified gunmen was foiled in south Kashmir district of Kulgam on Friday.
Official sources said that unidentified gunmen barged into a J&K bank branch in Mohanpora in Kulgam on Friday evening.
“The culprits tried to loot money from the bank on gunpoint. However, two security guards and customers present at the bank confronted the gunmen and stopped them from looting the cash,” they said.
They said the gunmen fired few shots before fleeing from the post, resulting in injuries to two bank guards and a civilian.
They said the injured were immediately taken to a hospital. Security forces have been rushed and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers. (AGENCIES)
