JAMMU, July 29: Taking serious note of the partition remarks by PDP Member of Parliament, Muzaffar Baig, State BJP has demanded his immediate resignation on principle grounds. The party made it clear that failure on his part to tender resignation may force BJP to approach the Lok Sabha, Speaker to take cognizance of his public statement and take appropriate action against him.
This was stated by BJP State chief spokesperson, Sunil Sethi, while addressing media persons at Party Headquarter here on Sunday. He was flanked by BJP State spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan and BJP State press secretary, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra during the press conference.
Sunil Sethi confronted Baig for his anti-national statement in which he said that the nation will again get divided, if lynching is not stopped. He said that this is totally unacceptable. He said that BJP is totally against any type of lynching be it on cow slaughter, honour killing or ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits from Valley. He said that the threat by PDP leader of division of country is totally anti-national and nobody can divide the country now.
He demanded immediate resignation of Muzaffar Baig on principle grounds. Failure on his part to tender resignation may force BJP to approach the Lok Sabha Speaker to take cognizance of his public statement and take appropriate action against him.
Sunil Sethi further said that the BJP forged alliance with PDP to honour people’s mandate with the sole objective of development. He said the PDP chief totally failed in ensuring law and order as well as the issues of national security, which forced BJP to pull out from the Government. Replying to the statement of former CM Mehbooba Mufti, Sethi said that in reality, BJP was swallowing poison while having alliance with Government, so cracked the pot when it began to harm national security.
Sethi said that Mehbooba Mufti and Dr. Farooq Abdullah are desperately asking for talks with Pakistan on Kashmir but BJP makes it loud and clear that the only issue which can be discussed is taking back the illegally occupied PoJK from Pakistan and it is also the spirit of the Indian Parliament resolution.
Sethi also said that the PDP president is raking the issue of 35-A just to provoke the people of Kashmir which is highly condemnable and moreover her such utterances invite contempt of court as the same is currently sub-judicious matter.
Meanwhile more organizations also took serious exception to the statement of the PDP leader.
Shiv Sena, Bala Sahib Thackeray held a protest against the PDP leaders including former Chief Minister and party president, Mehbooba Mufti and its MP Muzzafar Hussian Baig for their anti national outbursts. The Party held protest demonstrations on the directives of its State president, Dimpy Kohli at Jammu, R S Pura, Samba Kathua and Sunderbani. During the protest the Sena activists torched effigies of PDP leaders.
Jammu West Assembly Movement chief, Sunil Dimple has also strongly condemned the statement of former Chief Minister and PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti asking Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to hold dialogue with Imran Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan and said that there was no need of dialogue with Pakistan. He also lashed out at PDP MP Muzzafar Baig threatening another partition of India and said that those leaders who are threatening India’s division should leave the nation.
Shiv Sena leader Manish Sahni has also strongly condemned the statement of former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti suggesting Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to shake hands with his Pak counterpart Imran Khan. Rejecting the suggestion Sahni said that Khan had launched an anti India tirade during his campaigning and hence India should not hold dialogue with him.
