UDHAMPUR, July 29: Police arrested a vehicle lifter and recovered stolen scooter from his possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Rajinder Paul Singh, son of Dev Singh with Police Station Udhampur stating that some unknown person(s) have stolen his scooter bearing registration number JK14A-9448 from outside his house.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 369/18 under Section 379 RPC was registered at Police Station Udhampur and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police picked up several suspects for questioning and finally nabbed the thief.
The accused has been identified as Ajay, son of Dev Raj, a resident of Sukki Karlai, District Udhampur. On his disclosure, police recovered the stolen scooter.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SI Bhupesh Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Udhampur Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary, DySP Headquarters Kulbir Handa and SSP Udhampur Rayees Mohammad Bhat.
