JAMMU, July 31: J&K Offset Printers’ Association (JKOPA) will work for establishing the cluster for printing in Jammu, which will be the second in North India.
The Printing Cluster will also bring a lot of employment opportunities to the local people and great printing quality. This will also open doors for all printing jobs which were being done from outside the State and depriving the State of huge taxes.
This was stated today by president, JKOPA, Ravi Gupta, during a function organized by the Association to welcome Print Yatra 2018, which has been organized by Offset Printers Association (OPA) Ludhiana.
The team of OPA was led by Prof Kamal Chopra (ex president of AIFMP and general secretary of OPA), who while interacting with JKOPA office bearers, shared the importance of establishing the Cluster for Printing in Jammu wherein Government of India funds up to Rs 13 crore in the first phase. He informed that same cluster in Sivakasi is working perfectly and earning profits. He also informed them that a Printing Exhibition is going to be held in Chandigarh in coming days.
Prof Kamal Chopra also educated the members about GST rates of various printing items which they have to charge from customers. Brochures containing the approved GST rates were distributed amongst the members. He said that it is his dream to educate small printers about latest technologies as well as unite them under networking programme for the north. He assured every help in establishing a Printing Cluster in Jammu.
Among others present in the function were Hans Raj Chopra, Ashwani Gupta, Ajay Seth, Gagan Deep Singh and JKOPA office bearers, Sudesh Gupta (senior vice president), Sharat Sharma (vice president), Rahul Mahajan (general secretary, Rajneesh Kaushal (secretary), Sanjay Soni (finance secretary, Satish Raina (joint secretary).
