JTC protests against prolonged power cuts

JAMMU, Dec 24: Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) held a peaceful protest rally in the Jagti township today in support of the demands of the inmates of the township.
The rally was led by the president of JTC Shadi Lal Pandita.
The protestors were demanding enhancement of relief to Rs 15,000 per month, improvement in power supply as the township was facing over 16 hour un scheduled power cut daily, implementation of employment package with 500 more class fourth posts and on spot recruitment drive for migrant youth in police.
They also demanded settlement of displaced Pandits at a safer place in Kashmir valley.
Later a delegation called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner R K Pandita and apprised him of the problems being faced by the Jagti inmates. Mr Pandita assured them that the genuine problems will be redressed.
The JTC has warned that it will be forced to come to streets in case Government fails to settle the demands.
The rally among others was addressed by B L Raina, Piyare Lal, M L Akhoon, R L Bhat, Rajinder Dhar, Radha Krishan B L Dhar etc.
