SRINAGAR, Aug 1: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ghulam Ahmed Mir today said that BJP and RSS are great threat to the secular identity of the country.
Addressing party delegations from various parts of South Kashmir and other parts here today Mir said that under PDP-BJP rule the State had been facing worst kind of situation. No development took place on ground zero.
Mir lamented the fact that entire Nation is in danger under BJP rule and cautioned that BJP- RSS can go to any extent for power, they are on the job of dividing and victimizing people under the garb of patriotism, but at the same time he felt confident, the people have realized that it was the BJP which is saffronising the country for the sake of power and under such circumstances, it is the Congress Party alone that stands guarantee to secular fabric of the country. Congress Party has always maintained secular fabric of the country and it will fight against the divisive politics of BJP –RSS. Mir said.
Mir told the Party delegation that Congress is unifying force committed to equitable development of all the three regions of the State, but at the same, he hit out at previous PDP- BJP Govt in the State over discriminating people on political lines, as a result, the State has suffered immensely in respect of development.
PCC) held threadbare discussions with various delegations on the socio- political scenario prevailing in the State in the backdrop of toppling of PDP- BJP Govt, besides discussion the present security scenario in the State especially in Valley. The delegations comprising senior Party leaders and activists from Anantnag, Wachi, Shopian, Rajpora, Khanyar, Khansaheb assembly segment placed before the leadership the difficulties confronting people, saying that previous PDP- BJP Govt gave preferences to nepotism and favoritism only rather than addressing the concerns of general masses.
MLA Haji Abdul Rashid, vice president Mohd Anwar Bhat, general secretary Hilal Ahmad Shah, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Abdul Qayoom Shah, Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday, Maroof Ahmad Wani and others were also present.
