Robbery case worked out; 3 criminals arrested with pistol, magazine, cartridge

JAMMU, Aug 1: Gandhi Nagar Police worked out sensational robbery case of Rs 18 lakh with the arrest of three notorious criminals. Out of three, two accused were involved in the kidnapping and murder case of a minor boy in 2010.
This was stated by Incharge SP South Vinay Kumar while interacting with media persons at Police Station Gandhi Nagar, here this afternoon.
Divulging the details, SP said that in the month of October last year, a complaint was lodged by supervisor of Chakmate Company (a company engaged for refilling the ATMs) Yash Pal, son of Sansar Chand, a resident of Roop Nagar Jammu with Police Station Bahu Fort stating that three motorcycle borne robbed Rs 18 lakh from the company’s vehicle near Bahu Plaza after firing in air.

Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 230/17 was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a police team headed by SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia along with SI Rohit Bhagat from Gandhi Nagar Police Station under the supervision of Incharge SP South Vinay Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta solved the sensational robbery case with the arrest of three notorious criminals.
SP stated that the accused have been identified as Davinder Singh, son of Tirath Singh of Model Town Digiana Jammu, Gagandeep Singh, son of Paramjeet Singh of Ajit Nagar Talab Tillo Jammu and Manmohan Singh, son of Joginder Singh of Sanjay Nagar Jammu.
“On their disclosure, police recovered motorcycle used in the commission of the crime along with one pistol with magazine and one live cartridge”, SP said, adding that Davinder Singh and Gagandeep Singh were arrested earlier in the kidnapping and murder case of minor boy namely Shalin Gupta, son of Naresh Gupta, a resident of Nai Basti in the year 2010 and were in jail for 5 years. “The duo kidnapped the minor boy and demanded ransom of Rs 10 lakh. As family members failed to give ransom of Rs 10 lakh, the duo murdered the minor boy”, SP informed.
A case under FIR Number 121/10 under Sections 302, 364, 386, 201 and 34 RPC and 4/25 Arms Act stands registered in this regards with Police Station Gandhi Nagar, SP said, adding that the challan of the case already stands produced in the court of law, but after 5 years, the accused produced their juvenile certificates and were admitted to bail by the trial court.
Further questioning of the accused persons are going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft case, SP added.
