KISHTWAR, Aug 2: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma and IGP Jammu SD Singh Jamwal visited Machail, Padder and interacted with the pilgrims.
They also interacted with the public of area and patiently listened all the genuine demands put forth by the public wherein on spot directions were passed to the concerned authorities for taking necessary steps in the light of the issues raised by the public of area.
Divisional Commissioner and IGP were accompanied by DDC Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana, SSP Kishtwar Abrar Ahmed Choudhary and other district and sectoral officers of civil and police administration.
Divisional Commissioner chaired a performance appraisal meeting and reviewed the progress of various ongoing developmental projects of different sectors viz. R&B (PWD), PMGSY, PDD, PHE, JKPCC, RDD and other sectors.
At the outset, DDC Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana briefed Divisional Commissioner about various ongoing development projects in the district.
Divisional Commissioner was also apprised about the latest status regarding the development of Airstrip at Kishtwar wherein final award has been issued and the amended draft MoU to be signed between Ministry of defence and civil aviation authorities of the State has been finalized and submitted to the concerned authorities for acceptance.
Sanjeev Verma asked PHE authorities to prepare DPRs for augmentation of new water supply scheme at Gulabgarh Padder. He further directed concerned officers to expedite the pending cases of casual labours/need based workers for regularization. While taking the review of R&B sector, he asked for projecting the required funds regarding the completion of roads taken under CRF.
He stressed for giving impetus to plantation of about 10 lakh trees in convergence under MGNREGA and joint efforts of Horticulture and Agriculture Department, so that the deteriorating conditions due to deforestation could be compensated. Besides, he asked for working out the possibilities for establishment of public library at Gulabgarh under Corporate Social Responsibility CSR).
He directed the JKPCC to ensure completion of Atholi bridge at Padder immediately. Further he asked the concerned agencies to take necessary steps for safeguarding the bad road conditions from Galhar to Karthie.
The meeting was attended by DDC Kishtwar, ADDC, ADC, CPO, ACD, CMO, XENs besides other district and sectoral officers.
Later, IGP Jammu SD Singh Jamwal reviewed the police and security arrangements already made in view of the ongoing Annual Machail Yatra. He also reviewed the overall security and law and order scenario of District Kishtwar on the onset to Independence Day-2018.
Officiating Commander 9 Sector, Abrar Choudhary SSP Kishtwar, Officers of 11 RR, 26 RR, 17 RR, CO CISF, officers of intelligence agencies i.e IB, CID CI, CID (SB) and all SHOs and Incharge Police Posts participated in the meeting.
