SRINAGAR, May 2: As a part of Special Lecture Series, The Business School, University of Kashmir today organised a lecture on, “The Spatial Dispersion of Populations: The Underpinnings of Product and Service Delivery Infrastructure”.
The lecture was delivered by Prof Iqbal Agha, Chairman, Finance and Operations and Information Management Department, Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA.
Prof Iqbal Agha presented a wonderful presentation on “The Spatial Dispersion of Populations: The Underpinnings of Product and Service Delivery Infrastructure”. The spatial dispersion of the population of a country is a function of its geography, history and economic development. Enabling access to services and products for spatially dispersed populations is even more pertinent in today’s fiscally constrained socio-political landscape and relevant to both the public and private sectors”, he said.
Prof Iqbal related his lecture to the common infrastructure needs of the State of J&K and provided some valuable inputs for long term infrastructural development and highlighted the areas that have the potential to drive the economic growth of the State.
Prof AM Shah, Dean, Academic Affairs, University of Kashmir, lauded the role of Business School in providing a platform to the students wherein they can interact with globally renowned academicians and corporate leaders.
After conclusion of the lecture the session was thrown upon for questions to the faculty and students, in which Prof Iqbal answered these questions with deep insight and knowledge.
Earlier, Prof Shabir A Bhat, Director and Dean, FCMS, University of Kashmir presented the welcome address and said that creating a sustainable linkage with renowned institutions and personalities is vital for making education more vibrant and result oriented. Prof Shabir assured the students that the Special Lecture Series will provide them an opportunity to interact with various eminent personalities.
