SAMBA, Aug 4: BJP observed Martyrs’ Day of 2008 Amarnath land row agitation here, today.
The programme was organized by BJP district president, Jungvir Singh Chicku in which former Minister and MLA Vijaypur Chander Parakash Ganga and parents of the martyrs also participated.
The gathering paid rich tributes to the martyrs who attained martyrdom in police firing during the land row agitation at Samba.
On the occasion Ganga laid the foundation stone of the gate in the memory of martyrs. The parents of the martyrs also met the MLA and reiterated the demand of compensation should be given to bereaved families.
They informed Ganga that these families were not given any compensation by the Government till date.
