Sir,
The preamble of almost every constitution declares the freedom of life, liberty and happiness. Preamble of the Indian Constitution too proclaims that one of its objectives is to secure liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship. In this context every Indian is at liberty to grow in all respects without any fear or foul. Everybody is equal before the law. In the light of the Indian constitution nobody is free to take law in his own hands. It is pertinent to mention that in some districts of Kashmir people assemble in large numbers and militants target army personnel without any provocation. What is also observed that stone pelters ambush army vehilces and ruthlessly pelt stones. And if there is some reaction from the army there are sloganeering of human rights violation. It is a strange situation when an army jawans gets killed without any provocation from him, no voice is raised and no human rights violation takes place then.
I am at a loss to understand the termonology of human rights violation. Are not our army jawans our kith and kin ? They are the people who safeguard people of the country and stand by us in every turmoil to maintain peace. Two yard sticks for human rights violation is not justified.
