CB registers case in fake PRC case

JAMMU, Dec 24: Crime Branch has registered a criminal case against a resident of Uttar Pradesh and officials of the Revenue Department for their involvement in the offences of cheating, fraud, forgery and criminal conspiracy.
A spokesman of the Crime Branch said that a complaint was received from one Mohd Sadiq, son of Saraj Din of Channi Kamala, Trikuta Nagar stating therein that one Pyare Lal, son of Pugani Ram of Sheetalgunj, UP (presently putting up at Channi Kamala) in connivance with Revenue officials managed a Permanent Resident Certificate from the office of Deputy Commissioner, Jammu on the basis of which he purchased a plot at Channi Kamala and got the same mutated on his name.
Acting on the complaint, Crime Branch registered a case under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B RPC read with Section 5(2) Prevention of Corruption Act and started investigation.
Meanwhile, Crime Branch produced challan against the accused persons namely Shahzad Ahmed Salaria, son of Nazir Ahmed Salaria of Pandach, Srinagar (Assistant Engineer R&B Division, Ganderbal) and Ghulam Mohd Malla, son of Ghulam Ahmed Malla of Qammarwari, Srinagar, the then Tehsildar Ganderbal (now retired) in the Court of Special Judge Anti Corruption, Jammu for hatching criminal conspiracy and indulging in preparation of fake Scheduled Tribe (ST) category certificate and getting undue promotion on the basis of same.
