Zinc futures weaken on global cues, subdued demand
NEW DELHI, Dec 24: Zinc futures traded a shade lower by 0.31 per cent to Rs 113.65 per kg today as speculators reduced positions despite gains in base metals in the global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in January traded lower by 35 paise, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 113.65 per kg, with a business turnover of 56 lots.
The metal for delivery in December weakened by 30 paise, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 112.850 per kg, with a business turnover of 592 lots.
Marketmen attributed the weakness in zinc futures to off-loading of positions by speculators at prevailing levels even as base metals strengthened at the London Metal Exchange on positive US data. (PTI)
