Castor seed futures rise on spot cues

NEW DELHI, Aug 10: Castor seed prices rose by Rs 28 to Rs 4,667 per quintal in futures trade today as investors raised bets, driven by firm physical market sentiment.
Marketmen said, speculators increased holdings, induced by strong physical leads, where prices were in keen demand due to paucity of stocks amid brisk demand for consuming industries, elevated the sentiments in castor seed futures.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange platform, castor seed delivery for the August contract moved up by Rs 28, or 0.60 per cent, to Rs 4,667 per quintal with an open interest of 12,270 lots.
The delivery of the most traded near contract September inched higher by Rs 25, or 0.53 per cent, to Rs 4,713 per quintal with a business turnover of 1,49,710 open lots. (PTI)

Chana prices surges 2.46 pc on robust demand
NEW DELHI, Aug 10:
Chana prices rose further by 2.46 per cent to Rs 4,287 per quintal in futures trade today as participants created fresh positions, driven by rising demand from dal mills in the spot market.
Besides, tight inventory positions following drop in arrivals from producing regions fuelled the uptrend.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in September went up by Rs 103, or 2.46 per cent higher, to Rs 4,287 per quintal with an open interest of 12,040 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in the current month gained Rs 98, or 2.36 per cent, to Rs 4,242 per quintal in 87,720 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in chana prices to surging demand in the spot markets against restricted supplies from producing regions. (PTI)
