JAMMU, Aug 10: Chowk Chabutra police foiled a murder plot with the arrest of a criminal along with country made pistol (revolver) and seven live cartridges.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Chowk Chabutra Police Post raised a naka and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered a country made pistol (revolver) and 7 live cartridges from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Gopal Dass, son of Dharam Chand, a resident of Circular Road, Lower Mast Garh Jammu.
During through preliminary investigation it came to fore that, the accused was on its way to eliminate his rival. To dodge the police he tried to cross the police checking on foot, but his nefarious designs were foiled by the active cops of Chowk Chabutra Police Post.
A case under FIR Number 119/18 under Section 3/25 Arms Act has been registered against the accused at Police Station Pacca Danga and further investigation into the case is going.
Police team led by Incharge Chowk Chabutra Police Post SI Purab Singh foiled the murder plot and arrested the accused under the guidance of SHO Pacca Danga SI Dheeraj Nagpal, SDPO City Varun Jandial, Incharge SP City Girdhari Lal Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
