UDHAMPUR, Aug 11:  The employees of Transmission Line Maintenance Division-III, Udhampur protested within their divisional office& Grid Station Udhampur, against  non payment of their salaries.
The protestors raising slogans in support of their demands said that Department has stopped the salary of all the employees working in this Division from June 2018 onwards despite that they are working round the clock for fulfillment of their duty and for the restoration of power feeding to four districts of Jammu province including Udhampur, Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar at 220/132/33KV levels.  The protestors said that the employees have to move to and fro for the rectification of breakdowns/faults occurring on power lines as well as Grid Stations.
They said that the employees time and again have pleaded before all the higher officers including Dy. Commissioner, Udhampur  and have appealed Principal Secretary, Power also to intervene into the matter but nothing has been done so far from any side. All the employees numbering almost 300 comprising of 1500 family members are facing lot of hardships because of non-drawl of their regular salaries. This has created frustration and chaos amongst employees, they added.
The protesting employees have once again request the Advisor to Governor and Principal Secretary Power to understand the gravity of the situation as the plight of employees is genuine and to get salary regularly is their basic right. Unfortunately they are being punished for none of their mistake, they added.
They stated that if all rights of employees i.e regular salary, withdrawal of G.P as per need and withdrawal on non refundable G.P for employees attaining superannuation is not taken care off within days, they will be left with no other option but to disturb power supply of district Udhampur, Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar and part of Kashmir Valley & before doing so they will adopt a path of not restoring power supply in case of any breakdown/fault. For the Power crises the responsibility shall purely lie on authorities, they added.
