UDHAMPUR, Aug 11: Chenani Police today recovered two stolen vehicles, which were being taken to Srinagar by the thieves.
One of the recovered vehicles, Tavera car JK02AG8678 and owned by Shubham Sharma son of Shakti Saroop of Rehambal, was stolen from outside his house. A case FIR number 108/2018 U/S 379/RPC was registered in this connection at PS Rehambal. And subsequently special nakas were established at different locations including Chenani.
During checking of vehicles on NHW at Chenani, Police party led by SHO Chenani, Inspr Sanjeev Chib, under the supervision of SDPO Chanderjeet Singh, intercepted the stolen Tavera car along with another Creta car bearing number JK02BN 4850, which was stolen by this gang of thieves from Rehari area of Jammu during the intervening night of August 10-11.
Driver of the Tavera vehicle was arrested on the spot and he was identified as Ashok Kumar son of Mool Raj of Keer Pind, R S Pura, Jammu. However, driver of other car parked his vehicle roadside and fled away from the spot taking the advantage of dense forests.
Police is also working on the involvement of these thieves in some other vehicle theft cases as well.
