Ammunition goes missing from moving train

LUCKNOW, Dec 25:
Four INSAS rifle, one SMG rifle and other ammunition of Shashastra Seema Bal (SSB) have been reported missing from a train, police said today.
Deputy Commandant SSB Sunil Soni informed Government Railway Police (GRP) Kasganj over phone this morning about the missing of arms and ammunition from the train, they said.
Soni said that the force was returning back to Gorakhpur from Gujarat by a special train.
Following which GRP Kasganj informed their counterparts in Lucknow about the incident.
Soni said that last night when the train reached Kasganj railway station around 1:45 am, a personnel Manju Kumar informed that four Insas rifle, 14 magazines, 20 cartridges and a SMG rifle were missing, police said.
When GRP Lucknow contacted station master of Kasganj to inquire about the incident, he told that the train reached Kasganj railway station at 8.40 pm and left for Gorakhpur at 9 pm, they said.
Police said that a case has been lodged at GRP Lucknow. (PTI)
