UDHAMPUR, Aug 18: Demanding regularization of their services and release of their pending honorarium, Anganwari workers of Udhampur district today resumed their protest agitation.
A number of Anganwari workers assembled at Dabbar Park and held demonstration. They were raising slogans against Central Government for maintaining silence over their demands since long time.
They lamented the Government authorities were not paying them honorarium for the last more than two years with the result that families of the Anganwari Workers and Helpers were suffering a lot.
Pinning high hopes on Governor of the State for appropriate decision as early as possible, they announced to continue their agitation till the demands are conceded by the Government.
It may be recalled that earlier also, Anganwari workers had held series of protest demonstrations in support of their demands, particularly their regularization and release of pending honorarium.
