Batwal Association honours community sportspersons

JAMMU, Dec 26: Jammu Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association today honoured Havildar boxer Mast Ram Kaith and little gymnast Nandini Lakhotra for bringing medals in respective games.
Mast Ram Kaith was awarded `Medal of Honour’ while Nandini was presented `Certificate of Appreciation’ for bagging two medals in 22nd National Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, held recently at Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab.
On the occasion, the Association also nominated Master Naresh Kumar Kaith and Ravi Kumar Lakhotra as new executive members while Havildar boxer Mast Ram Kaith was nominated as vice-president of Akhnoor unit.
Chief guest Capt Kamal Dass Kaith announced that 116th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Gyagiji would be commemorated on February 25, 2013 at Shahzadpur Kothi. He appealed the Government to honour Sri Guru Gyagiji by inserting his name with Sri Guru Ravi Das Ji in the list of gazetted holidays since the birth anniversary of both of them falls on the same day, which has already been declared as a public holiday.
Prominent among others, present on the occasion, included R L Kaith, Piara Lal Lakhotra, Gunni Ram Kaith, Hakikat Anmol, Des Raj Kaith, Madan Raj Kaith, Chaman Lal Kaith, Bishan Dass Lakhotra, Raj Kumar Kaith and Ramesh Chand Chanjotra.
