Two HE 36 grenades seized

JAMMU, Dec 28: Vijaypur police today recovered two HE 36 rusted grenades from the banks of river Devak at Rajgarh Mandi in Samba district and defused them.
Police said the people spotted grenades along the banks of Devak near Cremation Ground at Rajgarh Mandi under the jurisdiction of Vijaypur police station. Police parties from Vijaypur headed by SHO Inspector Tilak Raj Bhardwaj rushed to the spot and seized the grenades.
The grenades were old and rusted. Police defused the grenades in the presence of Village Defence Committee (VDC) members.
Police said the HE 36 grenades might have swept away in the floods and were spotted by the people when they were found lying on the banks of river Devak.
