Sagar for speeding up work on college building

JAMMU, Dec 28: Minister for Rural Development, Law, Justice, Parliamentary Affairs and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar, today asked the concerned authorities to complete all the formalities required for taking up the work on the new College Building at Bagh-e-Dilawar Khan in old city, Srinagar.
The Minister was speaking at a high level review meeting convened to discuss the measures put in place for construction of the new college building for Bagh-e-Dilawar Khan, Srinagar.
Minister for Higher Education, Abdul Gani Malik, Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education, Vipul Pathak, Commissioner Secretary, Revenue, B. A. Runyol, Special Secretary Higher Education, Director Colleges and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
The Minister directed the officers to ensure that the new college building is completed within the shortest possible time so that the students living in different parts of the old city Srinagar get the requisite educational facilities within their catchment areas. He said that the Government has prioritized education as one of the most important sectors and every care would be taken to strengthen the same and provide the requisite infrastructure for it.
Mr. Sagar also directed the officers to work in close coordination so that they come up with the comprehensive plan for ensuring that the new building so constructed is based on modern design having state of art facilities for the students pursuing studies there.
Minister for Higher Education, Abdul Gani Malik while speaking on the occasion, said that the new courses like Chemistry Honors, MSC IT and Public Administration would also be introduced for the students studying there and in this connection the requisite formalities should be done with the university.
