Select base metals soften on reduced offtake

NEW DELHI, Dec 29: Select base metal prices slipped by Rs 2 per kg each on the non-ferrous metal market today due to reduced offtake by consuming industries amid a weak global trend.
Traders said reduced offtake by consuming industries and reports of a weak trend in overseas markets mainly led to a fall in select base metal prices.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel (4×4) declined by Rs 2 each Rs 415 and Rs 1,047-1,050 per kg respectively. Zinc also traded lower by the same margin to Rs 113-117 per kg.
The following are metal rates per kg:
Zinc ingot 113-117, nickel plate (4×4) 1,047-1,050, gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 415, chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 143, lead imported 141, aluminium ingots 128, sheet cutting 129, aluminium wire scrap 133 and aluminium utensils scrap 128. (PTI)
