JAMMU, Dec 29: City police today arrested a criminal and recovered a country made pistol from his possession.
The criminal has been identified as Sandeep Singh alias Happy son of Jagdish Singh R/o Ganga Nagar, Bantalab.
Police said the accused was riding on a motor cycle at Vivekanand Chowk this evening when police signaled him to stop. He tried to escape but was chased away and captured.
Police recovered one country made pistol from the possession of accused. A case has been registered against him at City police station for further investigations.
Police parties headed by SHO City Inspector Bishnesh Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SP City (North) Jatinder Singh Johar and SDPO North Kulbir Handa.
