Redress RETs’ grievances

Sir,
This has reference to the news item ‘Employees’ bodies condemn lathicharge on ReTs, EVs’ DE Dec 28.
The police action against agitating RET teachers has been widely condemned by many organisation as it was not justified. These teachers have a long list of grievances which they have been highlighting before the concerned authorities since a long time.
They have run from pillar to post, and have pleaded before the authorities to redress their grievances. But there is no body to listen to them. Had they been heared, they would not been forced to launch a peaceful protest.
Unless and until, their problems are redressed, the education system would remain in a state of sorry affairs.
The amount of wages they receive is not sufficient to run their homes. At present, a labourer earns more than these teachers who are considered to be builders of a nation. The Government should without losing time look into their grievances and redress them at the earliest.
It is only in India that the teacher community is paid less perks and privileges.
Yours etc….
