Protesting ReT teachers to observe Teachers’ Day as black day

JAMMU, Sept 1: Even as the five days sit-in protest by Jammu Kashmir Rehbar e Taleem Teachers Forum (JKRETTF) concluded, the indefinite chain hunger strike by the Teachers Joint Action Committee entered into third consecutive day today.
Both JKRETTF and JAC have announced to observe Teachers’ Day as black day for registering their protest against callous attitude of the Government towards their genuine demands.
JKRETF and JAC are demanding implementation of 7th Pay Commission in favour of SSA/RMSA Teachers and Masters besides de-linking their salary from the MHRD source of funding and linking the same with State Government budget.
On fifth and concluding day of their protest dharna, a number of ReT assembled near Press Club Jammu under the leadership of Sr vice chairman of RET Forum, Bhupinder Singh and raised slogans in favour of their demands
Meanwhile, on third consecutive day of the ongoing indefinite chain hunger strike by Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (TJAC) near Press Club Jammu, fresh batch of ReT teachers sat on fast dharna for the next 24 hours.
Those who began their hunger strike this morning, included Subash Chander (District president Jammu), Vishal Kumar, Vishal Dev Singh, Subash Chander, Devinder Singh, Ajmer Singh, Harbajan Singh, Rakesh Singh, Vijay Singh, Jyoti Parkash, Surinder Singh, Anil Dogra and Rajesh Sharma .
