JAMMU, Sept 2: Youth for Trade (YFT), an amalgamation of young trade enthusiasts held an interactive meet with the newly elected vice president of Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) Neeraj Anand at Amar Singh Club here today.
The young brigade led by Tushar Mahajan handed over a charter of demands sharing challenges confronting the trade in the post demonetization era with Anand who is also president Chamber of Traders Federation Jammu and holds important positions in various social bodies including Red Cross.
BJP, MLC Vikram Randawa was the special guest on the occasion. Gaurav Sapra representing Mobile trade listed various challenges from deep discounting platforms like Amazon , Flipkart who are burning capital not to face competition but to kill it. Similar trends are visible and damaging the genuine FMCG traders said Rajat Mahajan representing FMCG sector. Besides trade policy , a platform is required to collect information and weed out unethical companies from the trade environment, he added. Ankur Suri, representing jeweler trade also put forth his views on the matter.
Anand after listening to the young business enthusiasts assured of taking up the issues at appropriate forums at Central level. The issues discussed were mainly abolition of Toll tax on goods, framing of a fair policy to govern modern trade, reduction/abolition of digital transaction charges besides putting trade policy in public domain and make necessary changes so as to prevent migration of youth from Dogra region.
Neeraj while congratulating the young business representatives for initiating such activities advised them to keep the debate on so that traditional trade which is the backbone of our state adapts to the new changing scenario and emerges successful. He maintained that never in history have traders demanded favorable policies, “ we only demand fair- play”.
Anand assured the young traders of full support from CAIT. S. Attar Singh, Chairman Distributors Association, Manish Gupta, Secretary CCI, Vinod Mahajan, president LPG dealers, Raghubhir Gupta, president Greater Mahajan Sabha, Vijay Saraf, Shiv Kumar Gupta, president Bakers Association, Gaurav Kapoor, president MES dealers besides various trade heads were present on the occasion.
