MP seeks absorption of SSB volunteers

JAMMU, Dec 30: Member Parliament Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha constituency Madan Lal Sharma has strongly demanded absorption of SSB volunteers.
Addressing a large gathering during SSB convention at Ban Talab here today, the Congress MP claimed that issue of the SSB volunteers was highly justified and genuine. Mr Sharma said that he took up the issue with the Union MoS for Home Mr Anand recently. The Minister has admitted that the issue was genuine. On the basis of the recommendation of the committee of senior SSB officials, the Minister assured that the volunteers who have attained the age of retirement will be given Rs 1.00 lakh each and their children will be given jobs in police and para-military forces
The MP demanded special recruitment drive in the area for local youth and stressed for raising a battalion in the area of this force. He claimed that his struggle for the cause of volunteers will continue till their issues are resolved. He also expressed his resolve to work for the issues of refugees and the border migrants. The MP announced Rs 20 kakh for the construction of community hall for the SSP volunteers in the area.
Ex-MLA Shivdev Singh and Master Kuldeep Raj Verma, vice chairman of Advisory Board for OBCs, were also present.
