Mushaira organised to commemorate death anniversary of Bandey

POONCH, May 3: The J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages, sub office Rajouri, in collaboration with ND Bandey Memorial Society, Poonch, organised a composite Mushaira at TRC Building, to commemorate the 7th Death Anniversary of former minister and eminent laureate, Late Kh Mohd Din Bandey.
Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud-Din was the chief guest while other dignitaries including chairman, Gujjar and Bakerwal Advisory Board, Ch Bashir Naz, chief engineer, PHE, BR Dogra, SSP Poonch, Shamsheer Hussain, additional DDC, Anwar Shah, SE Hydraulic Poonch, Medical Superinten-dent, Dr Niaz, tehsildar Poonch, Nissar Shaad and family members of Bandey Sahib were also present.
In his address, chief guest advised the present leadership to follow the footsteps of Bandey Sahib to serve the people in a better way. He described Bandey as a visionary politician who had a close association with Late Indra Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.
Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, Ajeet Kumar Sahu presided over the function, while paying tributes to Bandey said, “I am lucky enough to attend this function which is organised in the memory of a statesman of this soil”.
Advocate Sanjay Raina described in detail the services of Late Bandey Sahib as a teacher, lawyer, a politician and as a scholar.
At last, mementos were presented to the chief guest and other dignitaries by MD Banday Memorial Society. A shawl was also presented to the chief guest by the sons of Late leader.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Niaz Banday.
