Cheat held for ATM fraud

REASI, Sept 4: Police here today arrested a cheat involved in ATM fraud.
As per reports one Mohd Ashraf son of Mohd Jabar resident of Dhanour was earlier employed for enrolment of Aadhaar Cards and during this period he got fair knowledge of computers which he clandestinely used to forge a document to obtain a duplicate ATM Card of one Vishal Pandotra son of Subash Pandotra resident of Reasi from a JKB branch and subsequently diverted the bank transaction SMSes to a fraudulent number.
Earlier, Abhishek Gupta, Relationship Executive of J&K Bank, Branch Main Bazaar Reasi had lodged a police complaint that someone had fraudulently got the ATM card of their account holder Vishal Pandotra by forging his signature and had withdrawn an amount of Rs. 1,31,000 in various transactions in August.
After registering a case in FIR number 165/2018 U/S 419, 420, 467, 468, 471 RPC a police team led by Ashwani Sharma, SHO Reasi raided several places and finally the cheat was nabbed by Head Constable Baldev Singh from Geeta Nagar, Reasi.
Further his CCTV footage was also retrieved from various ATMs and the offence was established.
Upon questioning, the cheat broke down and confessed his crime.
