Addl DG CRPF, Air Marshal meet Governor

SRINAGAR, Sept 6: V.S.K Kaumudi, Additional Director General, CRPF, J&K Zone, called on Governor Satya Pal Malik, at Raj Bhavan here today.
Kaumudi briefed Governor about various matters pertaining to the functioning of the CRPF and discussed issues relating to internal security management and the Police-CRPF operational deployments in various district headquarters and vital areas. He also informed Governor about the programmes and civic action interventions launched by the CRPF in all the three regions of the State.
Governor expressed satisfaction over CRPF’s coordination developed with local police and other security agencies in handling the challenging law and order situations in J&K.
He lauded the role of CRPF for ensuring smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2018. Governor urged the officer that CRPF, besides ensuring the security in the respective areas must also maintain a cordial relationship with the people of the State.
C. Hari Kumar, Air Marshal also met Governor to discuss various issues relating to the role and responsibilities of the Indian Air Force in J&K. BVR Subrahmanyam, Chief Secretary and Rohit Kansal, Principal Secretary Planning, participated in the discussions.
During their discussions, various concerns were reviewed including the developments along J&K’s frontiers. They also discussed development of infrastructure in aviation sector like modernisation of runways, expansion of airports, night landing facilities at the airports in the State etc.
Governor lauded the crucial role played by the Indian Air Force in defending the territorial integrity of the country and in providing valuable support to the civil authorities in carrying out rescue, relief and evacuation operations and enabling the concerned authorities in dealing with emergencies and natural calamities.
Governor observed that whenever there is any calamity or accident, the Air Force has been providing crucial help by rushing relief materials, medicines, essential commodities and evacuating the injured for treatment and lauded their valuable support in the smooth conduct of Shri Amarnathji Yatra every year.
