JKNPP protests against rise in petrol, diesel prices

JAMMU, Sept 6: Expressing concern over the sharp rise in prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas besides other essential commodities during the last four years of the BJP regime, activists of J&K National Panther Party (JKNPP) led by Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman JKNPP here today staged a protest demonstration.
The protestors raised anti-BJP slogans and torched the effigy of BJP to express their resentment.
Speaking on the occasion, Harsh Dev Singh said in entire Asia petrol and diesel prices are costliest in India.
He said that international prices of crude oil have sharply fallen but the Centre has hiked excise duty on petrol and diesel by ten times.
Lambasting BJP, Harsh Dev said when BJP was in opposition, its leaders used no protest every hike in prices of essential commodities.
“Now when the BJP is in power for the last four years, the inflation rate is at its peak and broken all previous records but none of the BJP Ministers is uttering a word over the same,” he maintained.
Rajesh Padgotra, Gagan Pratap Singh, Rampaul Sharma, Nirmal Kishore and others were also present in the protest.
