UDHAMPUR, Sept 7: Former MLA and NPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia today said that dissolution of Assembly was necessary for impartial Municipal elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Panthers Party is always in favour of Municipal elections but the continuation of suspended Assembly for three months is against the law which is totally unacceptable,” he said while addressing a press conference, here today.
Mankotia maintained that after the collapse of BJP-PDP alliance Government, it was unlawful to continue the Assembly even for a single day as neither of any party has sufficient number of MLAs for Govt formation.
“In the prevailing situation, voters cannot except free and fare poll without dissolution of Assembly,” he said and announced that Panthers Party will soon call upon party working committee for further discussion on civic and Panchayat elections.
District vice president Sunil Gudda and Youth leader Samneek Bhasin were also present on the occasion.
