2 drug peddlers arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Sept 7: Udhampur Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 11.7 grams of heroin from their possession.
Divulging the details, SSP Udhampur Rayees Mohammad Bhat said that on specific information, a team from Udhampur Police Station laid a naka at Dandhyal near CEO Office and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 5.5 grams heroin from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Rakesh Singh alias 307, son of Kartar Singh, a resident of Dandyal, District Udhampur.
SSP further informed that a team from Udhampur Police Station laid a naka near Dudha Dhari Mandir and apprehended a drugs peddler along with 6.2 grams heroin.
The accused has been identified as Parminder Singh alias Pammu, son of late Rattan Singh, a resident of Dalpad, at present Sailan Talab, District Udhampur.
Cases under FIR Numbers 461/18 and 462/18 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act have been registered at Police Station Udhampur and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Inspector Vijay Choudhary and assisted by SI Vishav Pratap Singh, ASI Mohammad Iqbal, SgCt Raj Kumar, Constable Vishal Singh Constable Dilbagh Singh, Constable Vinod Kumar, SPO Sahil Sharma, SPO Ajit Kumar and SPO Vakil Singh made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Udhampur Kulbir Handa and SSP Udhampur Rayees Mohammad Bhat.
