RAMBAN, Dec 31: One person was killed, while one another injured, when the Tata Sumo they were traveling in, rolled down into a gorge near Ramsu on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
As per reports, a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK19-0743 was on its way to Banihal from Ramban when it skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge at Hingni near Ramsu late last night.
On getting information, Ramsu police rushed to the spot and shifted the driver identified as Hilal Ahmed, son of Mohd Ibrahim of Banihal, to Sub District Hospital, Banihal, where he was responding to the treatment.
Meanwhile, body of the deceased was retrieved from the gorge today morning and was identified as of Showkat Nizami, son of Gulam Rasool Nizami of Gund Banihal.
A case has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
