POONCH, Sept 14: Rehbar-e-Taleem (RET) and Sarav Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers took out a candle light procession in Poonch town late this evening.
A large number of RET and SSA teachers who are on agitation for the last several weeks in support of their long pending demands at district headquarters here, assembled outside the office of Chief Education Officer, Poonch and then started protest demonstration there.
Several teachers also addressed the gathering and criticized the Government for not providing them benefit of 7th Pay Commission. They described the Government decision as most discriminatory. They also demanded release of the wages of the teachers in time and regularize all the pending teachers.
Later, late in the evening, they took out a large candle light procession from this venue and after moving through all the markets, they culminated their protest march near Poonch Fort. They were carrying banner and placards in hands and raising loud slogans in support of their demands.
