JAMMU, Sept 15: Akhnoor police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 11 grams heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Akhnoor Police Station laid a naka near Tanda and intercepted a car bearing registration number JK12A-0209, which was on its way to Poonch from Jammu.
During checking, police recovered 11 grams of heroin from the possession of two persons traveling in the car and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Anamul Haq and Mohammad Saleem, both residents of District Poonch.
A case under FIR Number 195/18 under Section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and further investigation of the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Shiv Dev Singh made the arrest under the supervision of Munish Kumar SDPO Akhnoor, Dushyant Sharma SP Rural and Vivek Gupta, SSP Jammu.
