JAMMU, Sept 17: On 7th day of Muharram, a massive procession was taken out here today under the banner of Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu, to commemorate the sacrifice of Shehzada Qasim, one of the martyrs of Karbala.
The procession passed through the traditional route New Plot, Ambphalla Road, Ustad Mohalla, Panjtirthi, Jain Bazaar, Khatikan Talab and culminated at Imam Bargah Sofi Shah Peer Mitha. Click here to watch video
The procession was taken out from the residence of Late Syed Mazhar Ali Shah after a Majlis was addressed by Moulana Syed Ghazanfar Ali Rizvi, Professor Jamia tul Muntzar Nogawan Sadat.
In his address, Maulana stressed upon the teachings of Prophet Mohammad and also highlighted the great sacrifice of Shehzada Qasim for the sake of truth. “Karbala taught us how to be victorious while you are oppressed,” he added.
During the procession, mourners were reciting Nohas and Marsiahs to pay tribute to Shehzada Qasim. At Imam Bargah New Plots, the mourners offered Namaz-e-Magribain and a Majlis was also organized by Anjuman-e-Haidery New Plots, which was addressed by Molana Syed Hussain Bakairi from Nowgama Sadat, UP. Maulana in his address, said that we should follow the path of Imam Hussain.
According to president Anjuman-e-Imamia, Syed Amanat Ali Shah, Karbala is a thought that cannot be deceived. He added that every scholar and historian mentioned this sacrifice of Imam Hussain and his 72 companions as one of the greatest sacrifices of the centuries. He further added that Imam Hussain taught us how to stand up and resist cruelty and oppression.
Ali Abuzar, president Anjwnan-e-Haidery, New Plot, said that Karbala is not mere a battle but a fight against the tyranny, cruelty and oppression of Yazeed. “We learned from Karbala that we should stand with oppressed.
Prof Sujat Khan, Secretary Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu, informed that besides people from different parts and regions of the State, organizations like Anjuman-e-Haidery New Plots, Anjuman-e- Hussaini Bathindi, ALMSAJ, AKSAJ and Shaheed Mutahri Library New Plots and MEWSL participated in today’s procession to pay tribute to Imam Hussain and all the martyrs of Karbala.
