Delegation of J&K Gaddis calls on Himachal CM

JAMMU, Jan 11: A delegation of All J&K Gaddi Sippi Tribes Welfare Association called on Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Vir Bhadar Singh and Minister for Forest (HP) Thakar Singh Barmohari at Circuit House Dharamshalla.
The delegation, led by Prof B P Singh Chouhan, apprised the Chief Minister that Gaddi tribes of Jammu Kashmir have their origin in Himachal Pradesh from where they had migrated centuries ago. They hoped that effective implementation of various schemes and policies for social, economic and political upliftment of the tribe in Himachal will also have its bearing on the community in J&K.
On the occasion, Thakar Singh Barmohari stressed that Gaddis of Himachal and J&K should fight unitedly for their common issues, such as preservation of their tribal culture, heritage and recognition of Gaddi language.
The deputation comprised of Gaddi Parveen Jaryal, Hem Raj, Lalhal, Phulail Singh Chouhan, Piara Singh, Prakash Chand, Bhim Sen, Shankar Chand, Hem Raj, R K Phagan, Jeeven Lal, Abhinesh Kumar and others.
