KATHUA, Jan 12: A middle aged auto-rikshaw driver committed suicide by jumping before a goods train near Hiranagar this afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Raj Kumar (36), son of Bishan Dass, resident of Hiranagar. Some people noticed him jumping before the train near Hiranagar Morh at around 1.30 pm. They rushed to the spot but he had been badly crushed and the train had passed the station.
Later, the police shifted the body to Hiranagar hospital and after completion of legal formalities, it was handed over to the family for last rites. Some domestic problem and poverty was stated to be the immediate reason behind the incident.
