JAMMU, Sept 26: District Election Officer (DEO) Doda Simrandeep Singh has suspended seven Government servants for not participating in EVM training.
According to the order, first EVM training of employees deployed for election duty was scheduled on September 24 and 25 in the meeting hall of DC office Doda. All the employees deployed for election duty were informed through their controlling officers to attend the training.
However, the Nodal Officer for EVM training has reported that seven employees—Lecturer Sudershan Kumar, RETs Fareed Abass, Kailash Kumar, Mohd Ahmad, Abdul Gani Batt, teacher Shamas-ud-Din and Lab Assistant Abdul Qayoom failed to attend the training.
As absence from election duties is a serious misconduct, these employees have been placed under suspension with immediate effect and attached in the office of Chief Planning Officer Doda. “They shall be immediately proceeded against departmentally”, the order reads.
