BRO Chief visits Project Sampark in J-K, inspects roads

JAMMU: The Border Road Organisation (BRO) chief ended Thursday his four day visit to project Sampark in Jammu and Kashmir where he inspected various roads.

Lt Gen Harpal Singh toured Parole-Korepanu-Rajpura, Reasi-Arnas-Mahore, Reasi-Pouni-Siar-Rajouri, Budhal-Mahore-Gul roads. He also visited bridges Ujh and Bein in Kathua sector, an official spokesperson said.

He dedicated the road point 703-Bijli in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district to the  Army.

He met the Army commander of the northern command, local formation commanders at Nagrota, Rajouri, Reasi, Jammu and Pathankot and stressed upon the need for close co-ordination between the BRO and the Army, the spokesperson said.

Singh also met the Jammu Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Verma and apprised him about the works being done on important roads under the project Sampark. He discussed impediments and hurdles in progress of work and sought his assistance in overcoming them. (AGENCIES)
