JAMMU, Sept 27: A deputation of prominent persons under the banner of “Prachin Parampara Samiti, Purmandal” met Additional DC, Arun Manhas regarding their concern on issue of shifting cremation ground situated at Purmandal.
The deputation members told ADC that existing cremation ground serves the villages like Padal, Razool, Kimmi, Patti-Kathod, Chilla-Danga, Sangad, Razooli, Pancholi, Aikad, Pajori, Samani, Padoon, Sandoodi and others as well as the persons from the other parts of the region.
The persons said that it is a very old practice of completing the final rights of their loved ones at the said place, which exists from time immemorial in front of Shiv Mandir at Purmandal. They stressed that the issue is a matter of faith for the countless persons and requested the authorities not to shift the cremation ground from its existing place.
Among others, who accompanied the deputations were chairman of the Samiti, Paras Ram, president, Hindu United Front, Kuldeep Luthra, Swarn Singh, Kartar Singh, Tilak Raj, Madan Lal, Sagar Singh and Krishan Singh.
