RAMBAN, Sept 27: Banihal police arrested a drugs trafficker and recovered 3 kilograms of cannabis from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Banihal Police Station laid a naka at Gund Tethar and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 3 kilograms of cannabis from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Khurshed Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohammad Nijar, a resident of Acchabal, District Anantnag.
A case under FIR Number 167/18 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Aejaz Ahmed made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Sajad Sarwar, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
