Man gets 3 yrs imprisonment for duping people

JAMMU, Sept 27: Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu Ashwani Sharma today awarded three years rigorous imprisonment to Rajnish Kotwal, who duped people on the pretext of managing appointment as Sub-Inspectors in Police.
After hearing Senior PO Rohit Gupta for the State whereas Advocate Bansi Lal Kotwal for the accused, court observed, “prosecution has established its case for commission of offences U/S 420, 120-B RPC, the challan of prosecution as such, is accepted”.
“The accused namely Rajnish Kotwal is convicted for commission of offences U/S 420& 120-B/RPC. Accordingly, he is sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of two years with fine of Rs 5000 for commission of offence U/S 420 RPC and with further sentence of simple imprisonment for a period of one year with fine of Rs 5000 for commission of offence U/S 120-B RPC”, the court said.
