RAJOURI, Sept 28: Budhal police booked a villager on the charge of rape in remote Khwas area of district Rajouri today.
The accused as been identified as Kunj Lal, son of Rikhi Ram, resident of Gundha village in Khwas in district Rajouri. A case FIR No. 77, under sections 457, 376 and 354 RPC has been registered against him.
A police spokesman said that the action was taken after a young woman, Rabia Kouser (name changed), hailing from Guntha area lodged a report with Budhal Police that one Kunj Lal of the same village raped her on the night of Sept 23. The police registered a case and started manhunt for the accused.
