UDHAMPUR, Sept 28: With the arrest of accused, Udhampur Police has worked out a theft case under the jurisdiction of Police Post Roundomail and recovered the stolen items, including cash and mobile sets.
The arrested thief was identified as Joginder Kumar son of Parkash Chand of Tarmada, Jaganoo. Further investigation of the case, registered at PS Majalta, is going on for ascertaining involvement of the accused in other theft cases.
According to Police, acting on a complaint of burglary in the house of Hukmi Devi in Roundomail, a Police team led by SI Jaswinder Singh, Incharge PP Roundomail, under the supervision of Zahid Saif Wani, DySP Hqrs Udhampur, conducted raids in different suspected locations. During raids, some suspects were zeroed in by police and during the sustained interrogation of these suspects, one of them broke down and confessed to commission of the offence following which he was arrested.
On the disclosure of the accused, cash of Rs 5200/-, silver coins, two mobile phones alongwith the important documents of the complainant were recovered.
